Voltcal ("we", "us", "our") is an electrical engineering calculation platform available at voltcal.com. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your company name and logo.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use Voltcal, including which calculators you use, inputs you provide, and results generated. This helps us improve accuracy and add features.
Payment Information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your credit card details — Stripe handles all payment data securely.
Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies for authentication and analytics (Google Analytics).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Provide and maintain the Voltcal service
• Process your subscription payments via Stripe
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Supabase Auth
• Improve calculator accuracy and add new features based on usage patterns
• Respond to your support requests
• Send product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time)
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access is controlled via Row Level Security policies — you can only access your own data. We do not sell your data to third parties.
5. Calculation Data
Calculations you perform without an account are not stored. Calculations saved to a project (Pro/Team plan) are stored securely and only accessible by you and your designated team members. You can delete your calculations and projects at any time from your dashboard.
6. Third-Party Services
We use these third-party services:
• Supabase — database and authentication (GDPR compliant)
• Stripe — payment processing (PCI DSS compliant)
• Vercel — hosting and edge delivery
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics (you can opt out via browser)
• Zoho Mail — email support
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session management). We use Google Analytics cookies for anonymous usage analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time

9. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. billing records for 7 years).
10. Children's Privacy
Voltcal is intended for professional use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on our website. Continued use of Voltcal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
